This is Prabhu Deva's second film with Ilayathalapathy Vijay, after the successful Pokkiri released in 2007. The film is slated to start rolling on June 6, 2008. The film stars Nayantara as the heroine of Vijay for the first time. The film is slated to release on January 2009. It is considered that half of this film will be shot in Italy and other half shot in India. Hardcore vijay fans belonging to fan clubs believe that this movie will be a trend setter and vijay will be a roll model for the entire kollywood industry by delivering the movie with fast screenplay and racy kuthu paatu.
Nearly 75 % of the movie is completed and the budget so far has crossed 40 crores and it is expected to be one of the costliest kollywood movies. The audio release December 12th .
It is also announced that Vijay will be donning dual role as father and son.
